Sarah Gilbert named COO of Bayfront Hospital

St. Petersburg’s Bayfront Hospital Thursday named Sarah D. Gilbert as its new chief operating officer and assistant vice president.

Gilbert comes to the 480-bed hospital with more than 30 years experience. Most recently, she was senior vice-president of operations at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. In 2020, she was named to Crain’s business magazine’s list of Notable Women in Health.

Gilbert will oversee logistics and long-term planning, while focusing on the expansion of specialty areas and acquisition of new technologies. She’s known for  leading the strategic expansion of key surgical specialties, while reducing overhead costs and improving operational efficiencies.
