The University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital have landed on a name for their newly expanded alliance, and the two will begin a national search for someone to lead it.
The entities are launching “University of South Florida Tampa General Physicians this October, in hopes of boosting patient access and providing more specialized care and clinical trials.”
USF and Tampa General began working together when USF launched its medical school in the 1970s. But, as of last summer, the two began working closer and aligned administrative and clinical practice.
The new nonprofit will have a combined 1,400 employees.
