The new St. Petersburg Police Department headquarters, designed by Harvard Jolly Architecture, has a number of smart features with the building’s workforce in mind:
– The officers’ entrance is next to the stairs and far from the elevator to encourage extra steps.
– The lobby’s service desk is placed for optimal 360-degree sight lines and security.
– More than 100 flat-screen monitors throughout the facility provide venues for emergency communications, training and presentations.
– A 3,405-square-foot fitness center gives Police Department employees the opportunity to exercise on-site before or after work, so there’s no need to drive elsewhere.
