All-pro tackle Tristan Wirfs is considering options that may include surgery for his injured ankle, Bucs’ Coach Bruce Arians said.
Before suffering the injury early in the Bucs’ wild card playoff victory over Philadelphia, Wirfs had played every offensive snap during his first two seasons with the team.
He missed Sunday’s game against the L.A. Rams, which the Bucs lost 30-27 to end their season. Quarterback Tom Brady was under enormous pressure all day from the Rams’ fierce pass rush. Wirfs’ absence likely contributed to that.
If he opts for surgery, Arians said Wirfs would miss spring OTA practices.
