Tampa Mayor Jane Castor filed for re-election Monday.
She’ll face at least two candidates. Jeff Godsell and Belinda Noah both entered the race in September and are registered Republicans, according to L2 voter data. Only Godsell raised any money, just $100 from his own wallet.
Castor is a Democrat, though Tampa’s municipal elections are technically non-partisan.
Castor was first elected in 2019, defeating the late philanthropist David Straz in Tampa’s costliest mayoral contest ever. Straz spent nearly $5 million, most of it his own money, while Castor ran a $1.2 million campaign.
Tampa’s municipal elections will be held Tuesday, March 7.
