St. Petersburg is already an incredibly dog-friendly city, and it’s about to get even better for pets.
It’s the second Florida city to join the national Better Cities for Pets movement, which helps cities become happier, healthier and more welcoming places for pets. The initiative outlines 12 traits of a pet-friendly city, ranging from collaboration to reduce pet homelessness, to having restaurants and businesses that are welcoming to pets.
Plans call for increasing support of pets in public and commercial spaces, creating more pet-friendly housing options and improving access to reliable information on pet behavior and health.
