Heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths among women each year. That’s approximately one woman dying every 80 seconds. Warning signs aren’t always obvious.
The good news behind those sobering statistics is 80% of deaths may be preventable with education and lifestyle changes. Five numbers every woman should know are: total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index.
Go Red For Women encourages women to schedule a doctor’s visit to learn their numbers – their heart depends on it.
