Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announces gun lock and vault program

by The 100 Companies

Recognizing that children’s safety is the most important part of the future, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is offering a community gun trigger lock and gun safe program.

“Sadly, we have witnessed the devastating consequences of children accessing unsecured guns,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said.

Nearly one third of American households with children under 18 own firearms, but unfortunately, many of those guns are not secured safely.

The gun lock and vault program aims to decrease unintentional shootings by providing easy-to-use trigger locks and gun safes. Interested individuals can contact the Community Outreach Division at 813-247-8115 for more information and resources.
