The Lions Eye Institute for Transplant Research welcomed 51 local blind and visually impaired children Wednesday for its annual Holiday Hearts event, in partnership with Hillsborough Schools VIP2 program (Very Important People who are Visually Impaired People).
It’s the first year since the pandemic Lions Eye has been able to host the event in person.
“What if you did not know what Santa, Rudolph, or snow even looked like? Many of the children at the party have never known that and we play just a small part in making this day magical for them,” Lions Eye CEO Jason Woody said.
