Tampa General Hospital is planning a new state-of-the-art pavilion on Davis Islands as part of the Tampa Medical & Research District. It will serve as a surgical, neuroscience and transplant facility.

TGH officials presented plans to Tampa City Council recently, unveiling its vision for a 13-story pavilion with 565,000 square-feet of health care space and technology.

TGH President and CEO John Couris said the facility will serve as “an intersection of technology and human ingenuity, where patients can access best-in-class providers, modern equipment and state-of-the-art facilities.”

It will include 144 patient beds, 32 operating suites and increased intensive care unit capacity.
