Tampa Bay Water – the wholesale drinking water supplier to Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties, as well as the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa – is celebrating 25 years of innovation and regional cooperation to keep water flowing to the region.
The collaborative launched in June 1998 by six local governments, establishing ways to reduce over-pumping.
“Over the last quarter century, Tampa Bay Water has done what it was created to do: end water war, restore the environment and eliminate the costly legal battles that once plagued our member governments,” Tampa Bay Water General Manager Chuck Carden said.
