Grammy Award-winning blues artist Buddy Guy was 7 when he taught himself to play guitar on a handmade two-string diddly bow. In his 30s, he jammed with Jimi Hendrix. And now, at 81, he returns for a fifth time to the Tampa Bay Blues Festival.
The weeklong festival, which happens April 6-8 at Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg, also features electric blues singer Chris Beard and fellow Grammy Award-winner Robert Cray.
Proceeds benefit PARC, a nonprofit that works to provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to allow them to experience life to the fullest.
