The Firestone Grand Prix returns to St. Petersburg March 10-12 with high-speed (and loud) racing. Drivers race at speeds in excess of 170 mph on the 14-turn, 1.8-mile street course along the city’s picturesque waterfront.
Past track champions Helio Castroneves and James Hinchcliffe return this year. “Dancing with the Stars” fans might recognize their names: Castroneves won in 2007 and Hinchcliffe placed second this year.
The Firestone Grand Prix festivities include entertainment, games, fan zones and autograph sessions. While there are 13 races this year, the main event starts at noon on Sunday, March 12.
