WUSF Public Media will be launching a new reporting focus this summer that will explore the personal stories of families and individuals living on the verge of poverty in Tampa Bay.
Report for America national service program will help fund the project. WUSF will hire multi-media journalist, Gabriella Paul to lead reporting in this new project.
The series will look into Tampa Bay families living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to survive in a region where a growth and a tourism-based economy has fewer paths into the middle class – a third of Tampa Bay residents live in that vulnerable middle ground.
