Inaugural Research Day showcases student innovation

Florida Polytechnic University hosted its inaugural Research Day this week, showcasing nearly 125 student projects in the Barnett Applied Research Center.

The Florida Polytechnic Research Day highlighted advanced undergraduate and graduate research across all disciplines at the STEM university.

“The innovation and discovery give testament to the research talent we have at this great school and the incredible education this institution provides,” said Bradford Towle, chair of the Faculty Representative Council, which organized the event.

That includes a project from electrical engineering junior Riley Orr using micropolymers to detect trace amounts of synthetic polyethylene, a source of microplastic water pollution.
