A new economic impact study, conducted by PFM Consulting Group, summarized the tremendous economic impact of Water Street Tampa’s first phase.
The 56-acre development will nearly double the size of Tampa’s downtown at full build out. Phase one added more than 1,300 residences, over 60 retail spaces, two hotels and downtown’s first new office tower in 30 years.
Annual economic output generated by the project totals over $500 million, including more than $23 million for local governments and $19 million in tourist and sales taxes.
The project also created nearly 6,000 permanent jobs. Planning for phase two is currently underway.
