Working with my friends at Leaders Team, I’ve been exploring gaps in productivity because I’m not where my calendar said I should be …
That’s right, your calendar is where you promise to focus your time and attention. When you find yourself doing something that you didn’t plan on doing, ask yourself: “Am I doing what I said that I would be doing at this time?”
If what you are working on legitimately needs to be done, then change your calendar and honor your word. If the distraction isn’t necessary, then move your focus back to where you said you’d be.
