Registration is now open to middle and high school students in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties for the USF-SE Bridgebuilding Competition, sponsored by the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority in partnership with the University of South Florida College of Engineering.
Students will work alongside an engineer in the design phase and gain valuable skills outside of the traditional classroom.
The competition is Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. at the USF Engineering Expo, located at 4202 E. Fowler Ave., in the chemistry auditorium.
The competition began in the 1980s and encourages educational enrichment and the collaboration needed in real-life engineering projects.
