St. Pete got a taste of Tex-Mex Wednesday, with the opening of Texas-based Torchy’s Tacos, the first of the cult-following chain’s locations in Florida.
A line of customers wrapped around the building before its Grand Opening, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The location, serving self-proclaimed “damn good” tacos, is located at 2314 Tyrone Blvd in the space formerly occupied by Pollo Tropical.
The chain is known for its unique menu, including a “trailer park” taco with fried chicken, green chiles, pico de gallo, cheddar jack cheese and lettuce. Also on offer are breakfast burritos and a variety of sides.
