We’ve all wondered why certain videos are recommended to us on TikTok and in some cases it’s a little eerie how spot on they are. The company has just announced a new feature they say will make “technical details more easily understandable.”
Users will be able to tap on a new question mark icon, which will list factors that played a roll in their recommendations and offer more transparency in For You Page feeds.
TikTok says future versions may also incorporate other factors that influence the apps algorithm. Right now it’s just based on an individual’s likes, shares and comments.
