Tampa Bay’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Tampa International Airport. Sure, we all realize TPA is a tremendous airport, but it’s still nice when that receives validation.

J.D. Power ranked Tampa’s crown jewel as No. 1 among the nation’s large airports.

Large airports are defined as having 10 to 32.9 million passengers per year.

Loser: Hillsborough County evictions. Evictions are increasing at a frightening rate.

Creative Loafing reported in August, 761 writs of possession were given to tenants by the Sheriff’s Office. That’s an increase of 194 over the July total.

The writ is the final step before law enforcement forces tenants from their homes.
