Tampa Bay’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: St. Petersburg. Besides being a growing center for the arts, entertainment, and foodie fans, St. Pete can now add the title of Florida’s best run city.

WalletHub ranked 150 cities across the country after judging them on multiple categories related to efficiency and quality of life. St. Pete ranked 41st overall.

Loser: Giant African Land Snails. Florida normally welcomes tourists but Pasco County would rather those destructive gastropod mollusks would go away and do it quickly.

About 1,000 unwanted invaders were found in Pasco. They carry the parasite rat lungworm and can spread meningitis to humans and animals.
