Growing a business from good to great

In nine years, former teacher Erin Meagher has built Beneficial Blends into a food manufacturing company that projects $20 million in revenue in 2018 and employs 35 people.

Meagher’s keys to success? Passion, people and economic development programs. First, Meagher, 34, picked a product that could improve Americans’ quality of life, not just turn a profit. Second, she constantly reminds herself that “business is all about people,” whether it’s distributors, suppliers or employees.

And as the company grows, Meagher uses programs offered through the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation for everything from finding real estate to workforce training to marketing.
