Tampa Bay Partnership recently unveiled the 2018 Regional Competitiveness Report, which tracks our region’s performance on key issues like income, labor force participation, poverty levels and a host of other factors. The region is benchmarked against cities like Atlanta, Denver, Austin, Pittsburgh, San Diego and others.
One surprise? Higher education attainment is lower in the Tampa Bay region than in peer and aspirational cities.
Not surprising? Our average wages lag behind, despite a healthy pace of job gains.
Now that regional leaders have determined key benchmarks for prosperity, it’s time to take action on the indicators where we fall behind.
