A tournament that began with a promising win to open play ended in two consecutive losses for USF’s softball team in the NCAA Tournament at Tallahassee.
Star pitcher Georgina Corrick threw a complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Mississippi State in Friday’s opening game. However, with Corrick not pitching, host Florida State overwhelmed USF 8-0 on Saturday, scoring seven times in the first inning against three USF pitchers.
Corrick started again in a rematch with Mississippi State but had to leave after one inning with an injury. The Bulls lost 6-0.
The Bulls finished with a 45-15 record.
