Any city can hold a parade to salute a championship sports team, but Tampa does things a little differently.
“We’re going to continue to celebrate in Tampa Bay and we’re going to do it the way we do it in Tampa Bay, with the original boat parade,” Mayor Jane Castor said. “What other hockey town can have a boat parade for a celebration?”
The party will commence Monday at 11 a.m. on the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. It is the second such parade for the Lightning, while the Buccaneers had one in February after winning the Super Bowl.
