Tampa Bay Times issues Tampa City Council recommendations

The Tampa Bay Times has issued its recommendations for Tampa City Council races on the ballot next month. Its endorsements are coveted in local races and seen as perhaps the most important nod in what are often low-turnout races.

Citywide

• District 1: Alan Clendenin (a diss to incumbent Joe Citro)

• District 2: Guido Maniscalco (District 6 incumbent)

• District 3: Janet Cruz (incumbent Lynn Hurtak is appointed and will appear on a ballot for the first time)

Single-member districts

• District 4: Bill Carlson (incumbent)

• District 5: Gwendolyn Henderson ( Orlando Gudes is an embattled incumbent)

• District 6: Charlie Miranda (District 2 incumbent)
