Entering the second week of Black History Month, former state Sen. Janet Cruz paid tribute to Black Americans and their countless contributions to history and culture.
“However, let us not limit our celebration to just one month. It is essential that we work toward incorporating it into our educational systems, cultural events, and everyday conversations, so that it becomes a permanent part of our collective memory. Let us honor the legacy of Black people every day by ensuring their contributions are never forgotten and by carrying on the fight for equality and justice for all,” the City Council candidate added.
