Tampa City Council member Charlie Miranda is holding a fundraiser Feb. 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Ulele. He’s raising funds for his District 6 race. If elected, Miranda would swap seats from his current citywide District 2, where he is term-limited, to the single-member District 6 representing parts of West and South Tampa.
Playing on his tried and true “Who cares? Charlie Cares” campaign slogan, a fundraiser flyer changes it up, noting Miranda “still cares.” Miranda has served eight terms since 1974.
Miranda faces four challengers in the March 7 election: Tyler Barrett, Rick Fifer, Nicole Payne and Hoyt Prindle.
