Andrew Warren’s change of heart, and subsequent upset

by The 100 Companies

The Andrew Warren saga began in 2022 when Gov. Ron DeSantis ousted him from office citing his decision not to prosecute certain low-level non-violent crimes. Back and forth lower and higher court rulings failed to get Warren reinstated, leading Warren to run this year to get his job back.

Warren lost to Suzy Lopez by 6 percentage points.

It’s possible Warren would have fared better had he been running as an incumbent rather than a disgruntled former official ousted by politics. But it’s a reasonable guess that, even then, Warren would’ve fallen victim to the ongoing reddening of Hillsborough County.
