Former state Sen. John Legg announced he will run for Pasco County Superintendent in 2024, following the retirement of current Superintendent Kurt Browning, who announced last week he will not seek a third term.

“I believe we are nearing the point where we will accomplish many of the goals I set out when I was first elected,” Browning said.

Legg previously served as chair of the Florida Senate K-12 Committee and the House K-12 Education Committee before that. He holds a doctorate in education program development and a masters in public administration. Legg also a former school administrator and teacher.
