Savings in store with tax holiday

by
school books

Parents in search of savings on back-to-school shopping should wait for the three-day, back-to-school sales tax holiday. This year’s sales tax holiday, which has been in place in Florida since 1998, lasts three days this year, and is set for Aug. 3-5.

Essentials like clothes, footwear and backpacks that cost $60 or less are tax-exempt. Also exempt: school supplies like calculators, rulers, lunch boxes and binders that cost $15 or less.

There’s no limit on how many tax-exempt items you can buy; check out a complete list of tax-exempt items here.
