People often focus on training their dogs, but many don’t realize they can train cats, too. Working with your kittens while they’re still young can build their confidence, help them feel safe and prevent future behavior problems.
Much like dog training, cat owners can use treats and positive reinforcement to:
– Make vet visits easier. Help your kitten get comfortable with the scale by placing treats on it so they’ll investigate on their own.
– Help them accept handling and grooming, like nail trimming, tooth brushing and going into their carrier.
– Teach them to interact, like touching their nose to your fingertip.
