Nissan calls the Maxima a “four-door sports car.” It’s not. It is, however, an absolutely brilliant, semi-luxe sedan inside and out.
The front-wheel drive stunts the car’s sportiness. With two wheels responsible for channeling 300 horsepower and turning, things get squirrely at high speeds and around corners. For the less lead-footed, the Maxima offers bold styling, a silky-smooth CVT transmission, a Bentley-like interior, impressive MPG and the best infotainment system I’ve ever used.
Nissan calling the Maxima a “four-door sports car” is like Toyota calling the new Prius “quick”: inaccurate labels, good cars.
