Florida’s oldest restaurant

The oldest restaurant in the entire state of Florida has another title to their name.

Columbia Restaurant, founded in 1905 by Casimiro Hernandez Sr., is also the largest Spanish restaurant in the entire United States. The local hotspot has lived for over a century in Ybor City serving Spanish and Cuban cuisine, with the added flair of live flamenco dancers.

It originally began as a Cuban coffee and sandwich lounge, transforming into a full-fledged restaurant in response to the Prohibition. Get this – 115 years after it opened, it remains in the hands of the same family. The tradition lives on!
