Florida Polytechnic University’s Applied Research Center opened its doors in August and is fully up and running at the Lakeland public university, providing students with a cutting-edge facility that is strengthening the school’s status as a premier STEM institution and an engine for economic development.
The $47 million building, located on the northwest side of campus, expanded the school’s research capabilities with more than 90,000 square feet of labs, design space, conference rooms, offices and study areas. It has more than doubled lab and research space on campus.
Construction began in 2019, with builder Skanska USA and design by HOK.
