It took three and a half years, but James Beard-nominated Chef Chris Ponte finally opened his latest restaurant, adding to his Tampa repertoire of On Swann, Olivia and Bare Naked Kitchen.
Ponte Modern American boasts white tablecloth elegance, a wine cellar and elevated tableside service, according to the Tampa Bay Times, which describes the menu as Manhattan steakhouse with a modern twist.
There is caviar, a raw bar, truffle risotto, escargot, prime and aged steaks and more, including favorites like mushroom soup, sea bass and short ribs.
Prepare to spend big – menu items range from the mid-$20s to upwards of $100.
