Tampa Bay’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: St. Pete Pier.

The downtown waterfront landmark was named one of the six best urban designs in the world by the Urban Land Institute  in its 2022 Global Awards for Excellence. There were 152 entries in the competition.  “This is an incredible, meaningful accomplishment for our city and our iconic waterfront,” Mayor  Ken Welch said.

Loser: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Losing last week at Pittsburgh was bad, but a blowout 21-3 loss Sunday at 1-5 Carolina was inexcusable. The Bucs have lost two games in a row against teams they should have beaten and are at home Thursday against Baltimore.
