Andrew Warren one step closer to taking his State Attorney job back

by The 100 Companies

Former Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren, yanked from his job in 2022 by Gov. Ron DeSantis over his refusal to prosecute certain offenses that violate state law, is moving onto the Nov. 5 General Election after easily winning the Democratic Primary earlier this month.

He now faces Suzy Lopez, who DeSantis appointed to his old job after his removal.

It will be a tough battle, with Lopez strongly backed by local and state GOP heavyweights, including DeSantis, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson and Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

Supporting Warren are several prominent local Democrats.
