Timmy McClain didn’t waste any time after learning he would not be USF’s starting quarterback this season.
The sophomore announced he will transfer to UCF, the Bulls’ biggest rival. McClain will have to sit out this season but will compete for the starting job in 2023 when the Knights move to the Big Twelve Conference. He has three years eligibility remaining.
McClain played in 11 of the Bulls’ 12 games last season as a true freshman, throwing for 1,888 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions.
However, he lost his starting job for this season to Baylor transfer Gerry Bohanon.
