Lightning shuffle roster, award big contracts

The Lightning have been busy in the aftermath of losing the Stanley Cup final to Colorado.

After trading defenseman Ryan McDonough to Nashville, the Bolts gave 8-year contract extensions to defensemen Mikhail Sergachev and Erik Cernak, as well as forward Anthony Cirelli.

They also signed also signed veteran defenseman Ian Cole and forward Vladislav Namestnikov to one-year contracts.

The Bolts then saw playoff hero Andrej Palat leave for a 5-year, $30 million contract with the New Jersey Devils.

Cirelli and defenseman Zach Bogosian had shoulder surgery following the Stanley Cup Final and are expected to need 4-6 months recovery time.
