After a furious fourth-quarter rally pulled them even with 42 seconds remaining in the game, the Los Angeles Rams ended the Bucs’ hopes of repeating as Super Bowl champs. A 30-yard field goal as time expired by former Tampa Bay kicker Matt Gay gave the Rams a 30-27 win in the second round of the playoffs.
The Bucs trailed 27-3 in the second half before the Bucs took advantage of Los Angeles’ turnovers to pull even on Leonard Fournette’s nine-yard touchdown run.
However, two long completions to receiver Cooper Kupp put the Rams in position for the winning field goal.
