Gov. Ron DeSantis recently visited Tampa General Hospital to highlight the impact of monoclonal antibody treatments in preventing severe symptoms and death for patients with COVID-19.
“The results have been very positive,” DeSantis said. “The key is having patients receiving it in time, early enough in the infection to neutralize the virus.”
Tampa General Hospital was the first in Florida last November to offer the infusion therapy to COVID-19 patients.
“The Governor is absolutely spot on,” said John Couris, president and CEO of TGH. “This is a therapy that is effective, but this is a therapy that is less known.”
