When it comes to keeping babies safe, we know a lot more than we used to. Still, unsafe sleeping practices continue to cause preventable deaths.
More than 100 infants died from preventable sleep-related causes in the Tampa Bay area over the last four years. Many deaths resulted from co-sleeping or other unsafe practices that can cause suffocation. While some parents still say they favor co-sleeping as a way to bond, the practice can have deadly consequences.
