The Fuse Scholarship, which provides support for first-generation, minority and other underrepresented students on the Fuse “graduation pathway” to a bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida, recently reached a major milestone.
The scholarship fund has doubled to $3 million because the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay raised $500,000, triggering an additional $1 million match from Helios Education Foundation.
Since its launch in 2017, 93 students have received Fuse scholarships. The students attend institutions like Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College, and will have guaranteed admission to their USF major after successfully completing their associate degrees.
