Get the most out of your tank of gas

January is here, and if your New Year’s resolution involves saving some money, one way is to get more out of your tank of gas.

Here are some tips to save at the pump:

– Coast with cruise control. Cruise control minimizes speed fluctuations and improves fuel economy, but be sure to only use it when road conditions are safe.

– Drive the speed limit. Avoid those “jackrabbit” starts and drive more conservatively – fuel economy is best below the 50 mph range.

– Use your air conditioning. Fighting the Florida heat with air conditioners creates less drag than driving with the windows down.
