Drowning is the second-leading cause of preventable death among children ages 1-14 in the U.S., and one of the top five causes internationally. And for children ages 1-4, most drownings occur in home swimming pools.
These startling statistics are behind The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’s message: Swimming Lessons Save Lives™. On June 21, children are invited to Tampa Bay area community pools to participate in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson and learn life-saving water skills.
The event is designed to educate children and parents on the importance of swim lessons to prevent drowning-related deaths.
