Spring is here, which means Florida’s first license-free fishing days of the year are just around the corner! On April 1-2, state residents and visitors can enjoy recreational freshwater fishing without having to purchase a license.
With more than 1.2 million annual freshwater anglers and more than 200 native species of freshwater fish, Florida is rightfully known as the “Fishing Capital of the World.”
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers a total of eight license-free fishing days throughout the year, with subsequent days scheduled for June 3-4. For a full list, click here.
