Commemorating Life in Tampa Heights

by

A poster from Tampa’s 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. A golden Mayor’s coin. Blown glass art from a member of The Heights Urban Core Chamber.

These are among a wide range of “artifacts” meant to represent life today in Tampa’s The Heights neighborhood. They were buried in a time capsule Jan. 11 to celebrate the construction of The Pearl, a 314-unit apartment community with ground-floor retail along Tampa’s Riverwalk.

SoHo Capital, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and community organization representatives donated the capsule’s items. The capsule will be opened in 2080 – the 200th birthday of The Heights.
