On Saturday, May 13, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, with the Tampa Police Department, conducted an eight-hour operation – “Operation Flex” – targeting street racing crimes.
The operation resulted in 110 stops, eight arrests, 14 citations and 52 warnings.
The purpose of the operation was to discourage street racing and curb the influx of individuals outside of Hillsborough County who engage in unlawful activities, endangering local citizens.
Notable arrests include charges for possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, oxycodone, a concealed weapon and a probation violation.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the operation’s importance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
